Pest Control IntroductionPay precise attention to trails leading up to a crack or a hole - These will often be the favorite and most used entrances for these unwanted guests. You can use expanding foam to seal around all plumbing and utility line openings. Use clear caulk to seal around cabinets, baseboards, and walls. Eliminate roaches by utilizing bait stations or baiting gel. Prevent roach infestations by removing all food waste immediately and keep surfaces clean. Gable vents are a common entry point for birds and bats. Place screening or 1/2 inch mesh hardware cloth over these vents either on the inside or the outside. Trim back any tree or shrub branches that touch or are near the house or the roof. If you've a wood-burning stove or fireplace, stack wood away from the house. These woodpiles are havens for insects and other creatures. It is best to leave any bird or bat droppings untouched. If it's necessary to clean the area, moisten the droppings first so that they don't release dust into the air. If it is necessary to vacuum the area, make sure that HEPA filters are installed on your vacuum. Wear a respirator and use disposable gloves and take care to wash all your clothing in hot water afterwards. Pest Control pointers
